Conference of Confucius Institutions held in Athens

The international conference of the global network of European institutions of Confucius took place on May 21-22 in the capital of Greece, the ancient city of Athens. Heads of institutes, classrooms, Confucius classes from European countries, scientists and experts in the field of Sinology have gathered at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Confucius Institute of the State University named after F. Skaryna at the international meeting was presented by Vice-Rector for Research Oleg Demidenko.

During the plenary session and thematic sections, the conference participants analyzed the peculiarities of the work and development of Confucius institutions opened at European universities, discussed the prospects for international cooperation and the role of Confucius institutions in the realities of modern society.

The Republic of Belarus was represented at the conference by 5 Confucius Institutes operating at higher educational institutions of our country - F. Skorina Gomel State University, Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University, Minsk State Linguistic University and Belarusian State University of Physical Culture.
