Scientific interests
Author of more than two hundred scientific and educational articles, monographs, dictionaries and reference books in the field of Russian and East Slavic phraseology and lexicology, gender linguistics, ethnolinguistics and mythology. Publications in scientific journals of Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany. The participant of the XII, XIII, XIV and XV International Congresses of Slavic in Krakow (Poland), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Ohrid (Macedonia) and Minsk. Member of the Presidium of the BOOPRIA. In 1992, he taught Russian at Beijing Capital Pedagogical University.
Under the leadership of V.I. Koval protected 5 candidate dissertations in lexicology, phraseology and ethno-linguistics. During 2006–2015 He was a member of two dissertation defense councils at the Belarusian State University; he regularly acted as an opponent in PhD and doctoral dissertations. Since September 2015, he is a member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission on Philological Sciences. He reviews monographs, collections of scientific articles and textbooks, and examines school textbooks on the Russian language.
