The Confucius Institute at the F. Skaryna State University of Georgia and the Moscow State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakina: partnerships

One of the most important activities of any Confucius institute is the expansion of the use of Chinese language and Chinese culture through the opening of centers or offices of Chinese studies in various educational institutions. Currently, Chinese as an optional subject is taught in three gymnasiums (№№ 10, 71 and Irininskaya) and two schools (№№ 44 and 72) of Gomel, and in the 56th gymnasium named after A.A. This subject under the guidance of a volunteer teacher from the People's Republic of China is studied by Vishnevsky as one of the foreign languages.

Going with the times, the leadership of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakina also plans to introduce in the near future the teaching of the optional course “Chinese for beginners”. This idea, in particular, was repeatedly expressed during the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of this university, which was celebrated at the end of February 2019.

In accordance with the work plan of the Confucius Institute at the F. Skaryna State University in 2019 in the Moscow State Pedagogical University named after I.P. On February 26, Shamyakin held a meeting of the leadership of this university with the leaders of the Confucius Institute at the F. Skaryna State University. They took part in the meeting and spoke with detailed information about the activities of the Confucius Institute at the F. Skaryna State University and about the prospects for opening in the IPSU named after I.P. Shamyakin Cabinet of Sinology Vice-Rector for Research of the GSU them. F. Skaryna Professor OM Demidenko, director of the Confucius Institute on the Belarusian side, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, Professor A.V. Rogachev, Director of the Confucius Institute from the Chinese side, Associate Professor Wang Lei and Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute Professor V.I. Koval. The presented information aroused great interest among the Mozyr colleagues participating in the meeting - the Rector of the MGPU named after I.P. Shamyakin associate professor V.N. Navnyko, Vice-Rector for Research Associate T.V. Palieva, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Associate Professor TN Symanovich, head of the international department O.A. Dubodel and the head of the planning and economic department O.A. Debris.

The result of the interested and open communication was an agreement on the continuation of contacts and consultations on all issues related to the creation of the I.P. Shamyakin "focus" of Chinese culture. In particular, in April it is planned to travel to the Moscow State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin is a group of Gomel students, gymnasium students and schoolchildren studying Chinese, to hold the cultural event “Let's learn Chinese!”.
