PRC Ambassador presented scholarships to Gomel Sinologists

Among the thirty young Belarusians awarded to participate in this event were three girls from Gomel. Who are they?

Angelina Aksyonchikova-Biryukova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Philology, a fellow of the Presidential Foundation for the Support of Talented Youth, has been studying Chinese for three years, and during this period she has achieved significant results. In March 2018, together with classmate Violetta Beloded, she became a student of the Republican contest held by the Republican Institute of Chinese Studies named after Confucius, BSU, in the nomination "For the Popularization of Traditional Chinese Culture"; Angelina has twice completed an internship in Chinese at the Dalian University of Technology; teaches an elective Chinese course in Gomel gymnasium No. 71. Add to this that Angelina is the author of more than 10 scientific works related to the study of Chinese and Chinese culture.

Her namesake Angelina Sebik is a ninth-grader of the Gomel gymnasium No. 10, a student of a graduate of the Faculty of Philology, who studied Chinese at our university, a teacher of the gymnasium Alina Gennadyevna Sukolen. A talented girl has repeatedly participated in events held within the framework of the activities of the former Confucius cabinet and the current Confucius Institute. her qualifications. Angelina Sebik took the third place at the recent international competition “The Bridge of the Chinese language”, which was organized and held by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and the Republican Institute of Chinese Studies named after Confucius of the Belarusian State University.

Svetlana Lyalikova - a student of the 11th grade of gymnasium No. 56 named after A.A. Vishnevsky city of Gomel - is the winner not only of the regional schoolchildren's competition in Chinese, but also of the IX Republican contest of research works on the subject “Chinese language”.

The scholarships to each of the recipients were handed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Cui Tsimin. First Vice-Rector of the University Andrei Kruk and Director of the Confucius Institute from the Chinese side Mr. Wang Lei were the honored guests of this event.
